Chicken Parmesan Recipe

Crispy chicken topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese, a classic Italian favorite made easy at home.

Ingredients
  

  • For Chicken
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • For Sauce
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Topping
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Method
 

  1. Flatten chicken breasts; season.
  2. Dredge in flour, egg, then breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Fry 3–4 min per side or bake 20–25 min at 400°F.
  4. Simmer garlic and sauce for 5–10 min.
  5. Place chicken in baking dish, top with sauce and cheese.
  6. Bake 15–20 min at 375°F; broil 2–3 min for golden top.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.

Notes

  • Flatten chicken evenly for juiciness
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch
  • Can make ahead: fry chicken and refrigerate, add sauce and cheese later
