Creamy Basil Tomato Pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup fresh basil
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve pasta water.
  2. Sauté garlic in olive oil.
  3. Add tomatoes and season; simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream and Parmesan; cook until thickened.
  5. Add pasta, basil, and pasta water; toss and serve.

Notes

  • Add basil at the end for best aroma.
  • Use pasta water to adjust sauce texture.
  • Store up to 4 days refrigerated.
