Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • cups shredded cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef with onion in oil until cooked.
  2. Add garlic and mushrooms; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in broth, milk, soup, and seasoning.
  4. Mix in uncooked rice evenly.
  5. Transfer to baking dish, top with cheese.
  6. Cover and bake until rice is tender and creamy.

Notes

  • Use lean beef for best texture
  • Add vegetables if desired
  • Keep covered while baking
