Crispy Chicken Katsu Bowls Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • For the Sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar

Method
 

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat chicken in flour, egg, then panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry in hot oil until golden and cooked through.
  4. Mix sauce ingredients until smooth.
  5. Slice chicken and serve over rice with vegetables and sauce.

Notes

  • Air fry or bake for a lighter version
  • Keep sauce separate until serving
  • Best served fresh for maximum crunch
