Crock Pot Bourbon Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken thighs
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sear in olive oil for 2–3 minutes per side.
  2. Whisk together bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and pepper flakes.
  3. Place chicken in crock pot, pour sauce over.
  4. Cook low 4–5 hours or high 2–3 hours until tender.
  5. Optional: thicken sauce with cornstarch slurry on high for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
