  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Blanch green beans until just tender; drain
  2. Sauté onion in butter until soft, add garlic
  3. Stir in flour, then whisk in milk until thick
  4. Add cheeses and seasonings; melt smoothly
  5. Combine with green beans, bake until bubbly
