Kreatopita Greek Meat Pie

A traditional Greek meat pie made with seasoned ground meat, aromatic herbs, and flaky phyllo dough baked until golden and crisp.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup parsley
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 –10 sheets phyllo dough
  • ½ cup melted butter

Method
 

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil.
  2. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in herbs, cool slightly, then mix with eggs and milk.
  4. Layer phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter.
  5. Add filling and top with remaining sheets.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 40–45 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • Keep phyllo covered while assembling.
  • Let pie rest before slicing.
  • Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
