Ingredients
Method
- Wash thoroughly. Peel and remove seeds. Chop the orange flesh into small pieces. For smoother jam, lightly blend.
- In a heavy-bottom saucepan, add oranges, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Stir well.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 20–30 minutes until thickened.
- Place a spoonful on a chilled plate. If it wrinkles when pushed, it’s ready. If not, cook a few more minutes.
- Pour hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal and let cool completely before storing.
Notes
- Remove all seeds before cooking.
- Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
- Jam thickens more as it cools.
- Adjust sugar based on orange sweetness.
- Store refrigerated up to 3 weeks or freeze for 3 months.
