Ingredients
  

  • 5 tomatoes
  • 2 guajillo chilies
  • 1 ancho chili
  • ½ onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ¼ cup water

Method
 

  1. Toast chilies lightly until fragrant.
  2. Roast tomatoes, onion, and garlic.
  3. Soak chilies in warm water.
  4. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  5. Simmer in oil for 10 minutes and serve.

Notes

  • Adjust water for desired thickness.
  • Flavor improves after resting.
