Ingredients
  

  • For Seared Ahi Tuna
  • 2 ahi tuna steaks sushi-grade
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds white or mixed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Dipping Sauces
  • Soy Ginger Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • Spicy Mayo Sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • ½ teaspoon lime juice
  • Wasabi Soy Dip
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon wasabi paste

Method
 

  1. Pat tuna dry and season.
  2. Press sesame seeds onto both sides.
  3. Heat oil in skillet until very hot.
  4. Sear 45–60 seconds per side.
  5. Rest 2 minutes and slice.
  6. Serve with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use sushi-grade tuna only.
  • Do not overcook.
  • Serve immediately.
