Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional Add-Ins / Toppings
  • Shredded cheese
  • Fresh parsley
  • Thyme

Method
 

  1. Brown the meat in a skillet.
  2. Add vegetables and cook until tender.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and broth.
  4. Transfer filling to a baking dish.
  5. Spread mashed potatoes on top.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.

  • Use smooth mashed potatoes for topping.
